Who We Are
S&S Acres ("we," "us," "our") operates SSACRESBISON.COM and our online store at shop.ssacresbison.com, and is located at 3180 S. Grubb Road, Lima, Ohio 45806. The store and its checkout run on Shopify, and the store has its own privacy policy as well. For privacy questions, contact orders@ssacresbison.com.
What We Collect
We collect the information needed to do business with you, plus some basic information about how people use the site. Specifically:
- Contact information you give us — name, email, phone, shipping address — when you fill out a contact or inquiry form, place an order, or sign up for our email or text list.
- Order details — what you ordered, when, and how much you paid.
- Payment information — online payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners (such as Shop Pay and PayPal). We never see or store your full card number. For in-person and local sales we may also accept cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle.
- Website activity — pages you view, links you click, the site that sent you here, your device and browser type, and approximate location (city or region). This is collected with cookies and similar tools, described under Cookies & Tracking below.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, banking credentials, or sensitive health information. Don’t send those to us.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Fulfill orders and arrange shipping or pickup
- Respond to inquiries about breeding stock, ranch goods, memberships, or the ranch
- Send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and follow-ups
- Send our email newsletter and texts — only if you opt in
- See which ads, emails, and posts bring people to the site, and show our ads to people who have visited
- Improve the website and our products
We do not sell or rent your name, email, phone number, or address to anyone. Ever. The advertising tools described below receive limited website-activity information so we can measure and target our own ads.
Who We Share With
We share limited information only as needed to do business:
- Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) — name and address to deliver your order.
- Shopify — runs our online store, checkout, and payment processing.
- Klaviyo — sends our emails and texts if you sign up, plus order-related emails.
- Netlify — hosts this website and receives the contact and inquiry forms you send us.
- Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — website analytics and advertising, as described below. Our online store also uses TikTok for the same purpose.
- Legal authorities — only if required by valid legal process (court order, subpoena, etc.).
Cookies & Tracking
This site and our store use cookies and similar tools from a few partners:
- Google Analytics — shows us how people find and use the site: pages visited, where visitors came from, and time on page. We look at totals and trends, not individual names.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) — records visits and actions such as viewing the shop or sending us an inquiry, so we can measure our ads and show S&S Acres ads to people who have visited. Meta may combine this with information it already has under its own policies.
- Our online store also uses the Meta and TikTok pixels and Klaviyo to measure ads, remember your cart, and send a reminder email if you leave items in your cart after giving us your email.
Your choices:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The website will keep working.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this site does not load the Meta Pixel.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
- Manage the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta ad preferences, and on TikTok in the app’s ad settings.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.
Newsletter & Marketing
We only send the newsletter to people who have opted in, and we only text people who have signed up for texts. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text to opt out. We don’t buy email lists, and we don’t add you without your permission.
Your Rights
You can, at any time:
- Ask what information we have about you
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- Ask us to delete your information (we'll keep records required by tax or shipping law)
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter
Email orders@ssacresbison.com with any of those requests and we’ll handle it.
How We Protect Your Information
We use industry-standard security practices to protect the information you give us. The website runs on encrypted HTTPS. We do not store payment card numbers. We limit access to customer data to the people who actually need it to fulfill orders.
No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously and will notify you promptly if we ever experience a breach affecting your information.
Children’s Privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the business grows. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the website.
