Tonka is our named breeding bison sire — the dark bull who anchors the S&S Acres bison program. He runs in a brucellosis-negative, tuberculosis-negative herd.
Snowflake, our rare blonde-cream-white bull, anchors the rare-phenotype sub-program.
He's the dark, deep-chested bull who passes his traits to the calves born here on Ohio pasture. Not a logo — an animal with a tag and a job, photographed and documented like every named animal at S&S Acres.
For two thousand pounds of muscle and momentum, Tonka is slow to anger and easy company. He still plays like a yearling — bouncing around looking for anyone to roughhouse with, elk bulls included. His sheer size commands enough caution that he rarely needs to prove anything, even when Snowflake comes looking to wrestle.
The Tonka MD line names the brand: the Tonka Bison Jerky line, the breeding stock catalog, and Snowflake's rare-phenotype sub-program all sit under his domain.
The bison herd at S&S Acres runs across our own Ohio pasture — homegrown, hand-raised, pasture-managed, and documented from birth. The named animals (Tonka, Snowflake, and the white females and yearlings) carry tags, photo records, and full provenance. Cows and calves run with the bulls in seasonal rotation.
Every named breeding animal carries an engraved ear tag — etched with the animal's name, the S&S Acres mascot logo, and our brand. Not generic plastic. It's the operational signal that we take individual-animal traceability seriously, and the tag becomes part of the animal's identity here.
The S&S Acres mascot logo and "TONKA" laser-etched into the tag. Every named breeding animal has one like it.
Snowflake is the named sub-anchor of the rare-phenotype program — not a separate mascot, but the face of the rare blonde-cream-white breeding line within Tonka's domain.
Told straight throughout. No "pure white" claims, no "no cattle DNA" claims. SILV-aware. Brucellosis and TB negative. Documented from birth.
